WORKSHOP-SANGEET 4 ALL

(MARCH 16, 2020)

"Music doesn't lie. If there is something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen through music." ~ Jimi Hendrix

At GDGPS, we believe in an overall development of the children. In our regular academic curriculum, equal emphasis is given to all activities and sports. All the activity teachers at GDGPS are well versed with evolving methods of imparting education.  Keeping that in mind, a workshop on “Duniya and Ukulele” was attended by the music teachers on 16th March, 2020. The workshop was conducted by Saskia Ji.

The day long workshop was conducted over a span of four hours. Main emphasis of the workshop was World music and introduction of the new unit ‘Duniya’. Teachers were exposed to interesting methods to teach various songs from different parts of the world. Various activities were taught so that students get involved easily and gain knowledge of music and culture of different countries. Saskia ji suggested to form a school choir and a school orchestra that would practice outside of the regular MDAT classes. She also taught how to take up various instrumental activities like a drum circle, how to play the ukulele etc.

Overall, take away from the workshop was practical and informative. The workshop was well received by all participants who look forward to more such interactive sessions.

The workshop was attended by Ms. Supriya Arya, Ms. Anukriti Sengupta, Md Rayees, Mr. Rufus Raj, Mr. Suaihiamriang P.T Panmei and Mr. Blessing Newmai. It was a great learning experience for all.
