WORKSHOP FOR TEACHERS TEACHING HISTORY

An online workshop was conducted for teachers teaching History subject by the resource person Ms Rakhi Sharma, on August 26, 2023. Workshop was started with the thought of how to make History classes interesting, with the topic – “Then, Now & Next; Magic that our Classroom can Weave.” All teachers are expected to be enthusiastic during her classroom teaching. History class is more challenging. Primarily lecture method is used to teach senior classes but it should be accompanied by Storytelling, Excursions - Physical and Virtual, Judicious use of Technology, develop Chronological Thinking, encourage Group Discussions, etc.

The teacher must accept diverse perspectives coming from different students while teaching. Teacher must also encourage differential viewpoints of students as it will help their analytical skills to grow and sensitize them to society and nation in general. The teacher has to ensure that the students should be well versed with NCERT text book as CBSE Board exam paper completely based on it.

The resource person shared some important site links to enhance classroom teaching. Overall it was an informative workshop.
