WORKSHOP - FINANCIAL LITERACY

G. D. Goenka Public School, Sector 48, Gurgaon under the able guidance of its Principal, Ms, Anuradha Handa, conducted a workshop on Financial Literacy on 08 May, 2019 in the school premises. The chief guest, Mr. Hindesh Handa who is a renowned Chartered Accountant along with other eminent financial experts Mr. Desh Rattan Gulati, Ms Meenu Pathania; bank manager Nainital Bank, Mr. Vishal Doulani; Branch Head of Kotak graced the occasion.

Mr. Deshrattan Gulati acquainted everyone with the basic knowledge required to manage personal finance matters in an efficient manner emphasizing the need to make appropriate decisions about personal finance such as investing, insurance, real estate, retirement, PPF, VPF and tax planning. Without it, our financial decisions and the actions we take or don’t take, lack an informed foundation to maximize their succes. Further, he told everyone to ‘invest…. and not save’.

Mr. Hindesh Handa who strongly believes in ‘The earlier you begin, the better it is’ equipped the audience with the knowledge and skills needed to manage money effectively. Using layman’s language, he demonstrated the benefits of Compound Interest; a proficient financial principle and how it helps individuals to become self-sufficient so that they can achieve financial stability.

The workshop left everyone fully cognizant of the importance of financial education and the language of money. All the teachers were convinced with the Wealth Creation Rules- ‘Save early, Save regularly and Save in right asset classes.’
