WEBINAR ON FORMING MCQS

A webinar was held by Sahodaya Gurugram Chapter in association with Vidyamandir Classes on “MCQ Based Question Paper Design” on October 23, 2021 on Zoom. The session was moderated by Mr Saurabh Kumar, Director Academics (VMC).

The session began with Mr Kumar introducing the topics that would be discussed. He also touched upon the reasons behind an objective question paper as designed by CBSE. Mr Kumar also said that educators would get hands on experience in creating MCQ along with experts.

At the outset, Mr Kumar talked about the fifteen golden rules that educators must follow to create MCQ questions. He spoke at length about the need to create balanced questions that were challenging but did not confuse the student. The question of how to conduct tests in the online era was also touched upon.

After the introduction, teachers were requested to join subject specific links where they would collaborate to create multiple choice questions. The subject groups quickly filled as teachers were eager to learn and expand their knowledge base. The subject experts in various groups shared their expertise and provided valuable tips on MCQ creation.

It was an informative and fulfilling session which will prove fruitful for teachers to provide adequate support to their students for the upcoming board examinations.
