WEBINAR- INTEGRATED APPROACH TO CASE BASED COMPETENCY QUESTIONS

The entire workshop had short presentations from the disciplines of English, Social Sciences, Science, IT and Business Studies, taking up chapters from THE CAMEL WITH THE JAPI - a novel by Dr, Warman, as stems for the integrated approach to Case Based Competency questions.
The resource person of the workshop was Dr. Urvashi Warman - who started as a Montessori teacher in 1990 and went on to become the Principal of The Palace School, Jaipur in 2007, is a visionary educator with more than two decades of experience in the field of education and the Moderator of the workshop was Ms. Aditi Mishra, Principal, DPS, Sector 45, Gurugram.
While the subject English had a question on the comprehension of certain conservation techniques followed in the Kaziranga through the representation of a pie chart, Mathematics chose to explain the concept of parabola through the tea leaves from Assam. Social Science teacher chose to check the understanding through multiple option questions, photographs, based with Kaziranga as the background again. The Competency based integrated questions for Chemistry for class XII chose a chapter of the story with Rajasthan as their background and which had a mention of various metals present, through a story telling method. The Information Technology chose chapter 21 of the novel and Business Studies for class XI took up the novel way of making handmade paper made out of elephant dung in chapter 3 of the novel.
Overall- the webinar dealt with the integration of multiple subjects in a subject and vice-versa, to make the teaching - learning process a more enjoyable and easier to recall and assessed through the competency-based questions.
