A WEBINAR ON BUILDING PORTFOLIOS AND CHOOSING CAREERS

GDGPS Sector 48 Gurugram believes in helping its students to fortify and empower themselves both in scholastic and co-scholastic arenas. Keeping this in mind a webinar on choosing careers and building portfolios was organised on 21 November 2020 through Microsoft Teams. The resource persons were Mrs Devyani Kapoor, founder and CEO of Edudevs, School of Inspired Learning and Teaching and Br. M. Chaitanya, Chairman of Undergraduate Admissions at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.

The aim of the webinar was to help to learn how students to enhance their profiles and help them step out of school armed with the skills required in the real world. The webinar was divided into two sections – Catapult Your Career and Making The Right Career Choice. The webinar commenced with an address by the Principal, Ms Anuradha Handa. She spoke about the measures the school was taking not just to create good students, but more importantly, create good human beings.

The first section of the webinar was a skill based learning experience for students which would help them to build and maintain their personal profiles. It was ably conducted by Ms Devyani Kapoor who showed students how important it was to create a dynamic portfolio for themselves. She underlined the importance of creating a likeable persona through appropriate body language and communication.

The second part of the webinar was regarding the choice of careers which is a crucial life decision for any student. Br. Maheshwara Chaitanya spoke at length about the importance of choosing the right career after suitable tests. He emphasised on the significance of psychometric tests that help to reveal the aptitude and academic strengths of students.

A vote of thanks by Ms Jyotin brought this webinar to an end. Parents were highly appreciative of the school’s efforts and praised the school leadership and staff.
