TWO DAY CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM FOR ENGLISH TEACHERS

(DECEMBER 06 & 07, 2024)

A two day CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP was organized by the CBSE for the English teachers of the Senior Secondary Level held at Amity International School, Sector 46, Gurugram.  The resource persons were Dr. Rajini Jaimini and Ms. Monica Sharma, Principal - Shalom HIlls School. The workshop was attended by 40 teachers across Delhi - NCR region.

The first day of the workshop was devoted to the ice breaking warming up activities along with intense discussions on the essential skills of the English language.  The Listening and Speaking skills were discussed at length, with the participants sharing their experiences and novel ways to introduce the lessons and the interdisciplinary approach would prove to be more effective.  The first day also saw lectures on Bloom’s taxonomy and how experiential learning would bring out the interest of the students. 

The second day of the workshop dealt with the Reading and Writing skills of the students and how to enhance them.  The warm up activities for the teacher participants write their take away and their contributions for the previous day of the workshop, along with regrouping and presenting their views on the directives and goals set by the CBSE, with a thorough understanding of the curriculum 2024-25.  

The workshop was interspersed with interesting and interactive activities for the teacher participants which included a dance lesson, sharing their hobbies, and their favourite writers and write-ups/ novels/ blogs/ vlogs/ inspirational dramas / documentaries etc.
