STUDENT COUNCIL SELECTION PROCESS 2020-21

Student Council at GDGPS is taken as a great tool for building leadership skills and providing empowerment opportunities to the students. Keeping a pace ahead of these difficult times, GDGPS has added certain portfolios and posts to the Student Council 2020-21 which fully understand, anticipate and address the online needs and interests of its students. A robust student body of 85 members will soon take charge, with the selection process starting on a high note on 4 August 2020.

In a comprehensive briefing session, the students of Grades 9-12 were apprised by Ms. Medha and Ms.  Shoma Roy about the positions allotted to each class – 30 posts to Grade 12; 23 positions to be occupied by Grade 14 and 18 and 8 posts have been assigned to Classes 10 and 9 respectively. A well-defined profile of a Club Secretary has been added. The 16 school Clubs will now be entirely student led and the Club Secretary will be fully supported by the Club Prefects.

The high standards of transparency and fairness of the selection process have been maintained as always. The students have to fill in Google Forms which require them to honestly detail their contribution to school initiatives and achievements. The online space resonated with excitement as the students decided to make the most of this opportunity to be a part of the school prefectorial board.
