SPECIAL ASSEMBLY-TEACHER’S DAY

(SEPTEMBER 04, 2020)

Teachers are superheroes without capes; they wield the smiling power to empower!

On the eve of Teacher’s Day the students of G D Goenka Public School, Sec 48 Gurugram put forward a very heartwarming assembly to express and convey their love, gratitude and keen appreciation for their teachers and mentors. The students of all the three wings of the school came together to laud the immense influence their teachers have made to their lives.

The assembly started by the school’s Head-Girl Apoorva Sharma, who led the presentation to a prayer. This was followed by the students of the Junior Wing expressing their thoughts which included a delightful song presentation by them. Next, the students of Class 11 shared fond remembrances of how their teachers have stood by them and have always gone an extra mile to help them at every step of their school journey.

A thought-provoking tribute was paid to the great teachers from India’s history, including Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, Chanakya, Swami Vivekananda and Dr. Kalam. A poem dedicated to the Goenkan teachers was read aloud followed by a montage of lovely images and loving messages that the students of Grades IX-X had prepared. The Head-Boy Joy Mehta’s speech was full of nostalgia, thanksgiving and appreciation for his teachers who have contributed to his success and growth. Another high point was ‘The GDGPS Effect’ which was an offering of love and gratitude by the alumni members of the school.

As the assembly neared an end, the Principal, Ms. Anuradha Handa talked about how much her students mean to her, and recalled her lovely experience and interactions with them. The two Head-Mistresses, Ms. Shalini Tandon and Ms. Srishti Nagpal along with the Senior Wing Coordinators, Ms. Ritesh Sharma and Ms.  Sarika Singh too appreciated the students’ efforts and the place they all occupy in their hearts and lives. Each emphasized how lonely the school is without its lively, bright and high-spirited students. with each one of them.
