SELF DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP- AN INSPIRING TEACHER

Under the able guidance of the school principal Ms Anuradha Handa, all the staff members of G D Goenka Public School Sec-48, Gurugram collectively went under a self-development workshop – ‘An Inspiring Teacher.’ The session was held on March 02, 2023 and was exclusively conducted by an eminent guest speaker Mr. Sanjay Bhatnagar, an alumnus of Harvard University, Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Indian Institute of Technology. He holds a vast experience as a consumer of education.
The session focused on sharing experiences and ways to make a student’s life less stressful. Mr. Sanjay also focussed upon optimizing entire education experience for the learners. He strongly shared his thoughts upon the Board examination system and the focus to prepare the learners throughout their learning journey. He enriched everyone about how a few things can be done differently. Repetition year after year in curriculum needs to be looked upon. He laid emphasis upon scheduling and teaching differently. He thereafter, added to build a base in the younger grades earlier to prepare the students for boards examinations in grade 10th and 12th.
He talked about “Block System Of Teaching”.
While he shared his experiences of Harvard Business School and Case Study methods, it got added upon as how G D Goenka Public School Sec-48, Gurugram is already applying the same all across grades. The session further included examples of teaching notes, teacher’s trainings, building upon theoretical knowledge, field trips, learning tools and integration of technology.
Mr. Sanjay also shared his personal experience of teaching and introducing extra things for students at an early age. Physical Education and Sports, Investing, Learning about Nutrition, Genetics, AI (Artificial Intelligence), Love and Relationships to name a few.
The school principal Ms Anuradha Handa, further culminated the session by expressing her deep gratitude towards the school management, the guest speaker and the entire team by reassuring once again that G D Goenka Public School Sec-48, Gurugram is already on the right track and is further headed in the same direction with more conviction.
The teachers indeed learnt massively through the workshop and have better approaches now to win the hearts and minds of the students.
