PAPER SETTING SESSION FOR CUET

(MAY 05 TO 07, 2022)

From the academic year 2022-23, University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced the common entrance test CUET as the sole admission criteria. Apart from the 45 central universities, CUET 2022 has also been accepted by several various state and private universities. As of April, a total of 73 universities across India have signed up for CUET 2022 as the means of admission to various UG courses in India. Three teachers Ms Raka, Ms Shailja and Ms Akansha from Social Science, English and Psychology Departments respectively, got the wonderful opportunity to be on the panel of teachers involved in CUET paper setting session in DPS Sector-45, Gurugram held on 5 to 7 May 2022.

The session aimed at brainstorming ideas through which an ideal question paper can be designed. Given the changing nature of today’s education, its effectiveness and usefulness, and how to draft useful and effective questions for the overall development of students.

Mr Sandeep Sethi, former Education Head CBSE, played the main role in the support of conducting the three-day session. He emphasized the significant points to be remembered before setting the paper. He reiterated the importance of limiting to class XII NCERT/CBSE books and the need for deep thinking and clear direction on how to ask questions with objectivity and creativity. The session was indeed an enriching one.
