ONLINE TRAINING PROGRAMME BY CBSE

(APRIL 16, 2024)

Art is a form of understanding through which we make aesthetic sense of our experiences. Engagement with art also builds our capabilities for being creative across subjects and develops our sensibilities.

The National Council of Educational Research and Training and the Central Board of Secondary Education held a Two Day’s Online Teaching Programme session for teachers of the school. The online training was coordinated by Dr. Ranjana Arora and organized by Dr. Ram Shankar

The online session aimed to create awareness about CBSE has introduced the three new subjects under the purview of the curricular areas i.e.  “The world around us”, “The Art Education” and “Physical Education and Well-being”. It is aligned with NEP and NCF. All the activities in this book are inclusive, and interactive, with lots of workspaces within the textbook and Indian knowledge systems integrated. Drawing insights from the National Education Policy the newly introduced books focus on a more holistic and well-rounded education that is rooted in India, with greater interaction, discussion, and analytical thinking. A brief syllabus is uploaded on the NCERT website for more information. The Physical Education book emphasizes on the importance of sports and formal physical activity and the focus should remain on developing basic skills, the joy of playing, the ability to display proper behavior, and attitude during these activities. The book also focuses on recognizing the value of rules, fair play, safety, and respect for others.

The emphasis was also laid on using the all books appropriately and conducting the individual and group activities in the classroom, developing the lesson, and creating charts for display wherever required which should be simple, and straightforward.

The online session provided insight into the holistic development of the child and encourage children to ask more questions. Working collaboratively across all the subjects. The session was full of knowledge and activities about how we can engage our students more effectively and develop more creativity amongst our children. It was an enlightening and informative session conducted by CBSE.
