LIFE SKILLS SESSION; CLASSES IX AND X
(JUNE 16 & 30, 2021)
To help the students understand the value of Uniqueness and importance of knowing personal strengths and matching it with their career aspirations, a school cinema movie screening session was conducted by school counsellor Dr Dipti Yadav for class IX.
The movie ‘Shourya’ inspired the students to have attitude of Self-acceptance, Prioritization, Motivation, Openness and Self-belief to set suitable career goals. It also helped in developing life skills of Decision making, Self awareness and critical and creative thinking.
Follow up activities and discussion helped the students do a SWOT Analysis and students got intrinsically motivated to introspect and discover more about themselves.
Other sessions were organized for the students of class X to help the them understand the Values- Safety, Life and Self, understanding the issues of Teen Safety: In Physical as well as Virtual spaces.
The school cinema movie- ‘THE RED FLAGS’ was screened and it effectively helped in creating the attitudes of Proactivity, Calmness, Responsibility and Assertiveness in students. Follow up activities and discussion encouraged the students to develop life skills of Critical thinking, Creative thinking, Self awareness, Problem Solving, Decision Making.
Discussion about being safe and behaving responsibly at home, in public spaces and in virtual space was done in the follow up session. A small poll was conducted to help students be more confident about the right choices they can take with respect to being safe. Another group activity was designed and conducted for students on being safe and responsible in various life situations.
