(AUGUST 08, 2020)
“Every Accomplishment Starts with the Decision to Try”
Highlights of the School Framework 3.0 and National Education Policy 2020 embedded initiatives were shared by the school Principal, Ms. Anuradha Handa with the parents of the Senior wing students. The Principal reiterated that throughout this difficult period, the school has ensured that the digital space and online classes are so designed and used that they create order out of the prevailing disorder.
The bar of the school’s Skill Enhancement Programme has been raised this year as well notwithstanding these uncertain times. The 15 School Clubs stimulatingly split into 4 categories will target development of specific genre of skills and will be totally student driven. Another important update shared with the parents was regarding the Student Council Selection process which has reached its stage two where the shortlisted candidates will face group discussions and interview with the principal.
Yet another futuristic enterprise that was introduced in the month of July was the E-Portfolio Building Program. The school Counselors gave out details of how the carefully-structured programme will be taken forward by the mentor teachers who will provide individual support and guidance to their mentee students to design creative and reflective E-Portfolios.
The Middle wing Headmistress and Academic Coordinator referred to the NEP, 2020 and shared that the Assessment Pattern adopted by the school ensures that “the students not only learn but learn to learn”. Accommodating the new paradigm shift in the education landscape, they also disclosed how the August Review Assessment and Assignments have been intuitively designed to be self-paced, rubrics-tested and practice-based. The school has ensured that there is no compromise with written work and that the evaluative assignments for all subjects make certain that the students do not turn complacent during online classes. With its thrust on completion and submission of handwritten assignments, each student will definitely be a good example of ‘progress and learning at work’.
