IDM SESSION - PEER PRESSURE AND ITS CONSEQUENCES

(DECEMBER 13, 2022)

It is not hard to make decisions once you know what your values are.’

In continuation of one of the many good practices at GDGPS, Sector 48, the IDM session held on 13th December 2022 was a student-led interactive session and was suitably targeted at the audience of class IX, with an apt title of ‘ Peer Pressure and its Consequences’. The Conference Hall echoed with an engaging confluence of concepts, ideas and discussions based on the topic which was presented by two enterprising young Goenkans of class IX. This session, aided by apt videos and a presentation, touched upon the burning topic of the pertinence of peer pressure and its damaging consequences. The leading students sensitized their peers with the consequences of vaping, substance consumption, bullying, loss of individuality and self-esteem, the myth surrounding the idea of ‘fitting-in’ and the importance of saying ‘no’.

This presentation was further substantiated by the Headmistress who enforced the concept further and encouraged the students to weigh the consequences of their decisions and also urged them to seek the right support whenever required. The session culminated with an interactive round sealing the fact that the students received the session well.
