HARMONY- YEAR END PRESENTATIONS

(FEBRUARY 06 TO 10, 2023)

The students of classes VI to VIII of GDGPS Sector 48, Gurugram presented their learning during the co-operative, collaborative and creative academic presentation titled ‘HARMONY 2023’ based on NEP, from February 06 to 10, 2023. NEP lays emphasis on Integrated learning, project work, group work, assignment based assessment, presentation based assessment and above all learning by doing. Self, peer, teacher and parent assessment is an integral part of NEP and the same will take place during the course of the week.

The talented Goenkans of class VII of GDGPS Sec-48, Gurugram emphasized on conceptual understanding and connected their SST chapter - Town Traders and Craftspersons with games like Kahut and Kaun Banega Crorepati showcasing India as the oldest civilization in the world & mosaic of rich multicultural heritage with myriad attractions. They researched right from Indus Valley civilization to the rise of towns in the Ganga valley and in the deltic regions of Kaveri, Tunbhadra and Godavari. To understand the concept further they conducted many engaging activities for the parents. The active participation of the parents was the cherry on the cake.

Critical thinking skill and creativity of class VI students of G D Goenka Public School, Sec-48 Gurugram was chiseled through understanding of core concepts and knowledge and its application in real-life situations. They connected their Math chapter - Practical Geometry and its elements like shapes, angles, perpendiculars and circles with the real world and monuments of India, integrating Math with Social Science .They researched about the various monuments based on the physical divisions in India to incorporate the concept of angles, perpendicular and circles. Parents were actively involved in making polygons using geoboards. They also created hearts on geoboards to express their love for our dear Goenkans.

The talented Goenkans of class VII of GDGPS Sector 48, integrated teamwork and collaboration. The complete focus was on core competencies, communication, soft skills, positive interdependence and above all working for a common goal supporting each other. They connected their Science chapter ‘Electricity and its effects’ with the practical usage of electricity in their daily lives emphasizing on conceptual understanding.

Students of class VIII explored the concept of ‘Light and Eye’ and presented it through a 3D model. The element of ‘Integrated Collaborative Learning Program’ (ICLP) was also highlighted in the presentation where scholastic and co-scholastic domains of learning were amalgamated.
