FOSTERING CONFIDENCE: NURTURING POSITIVE SELF ESTEEM IN STUDENTS

The insightful discussion on the critical topic of ‘Nurturing confidence and positive self-esteem in students’ was conducted on September 15, 2023 by the panelist Ms Anuradha Handa, Founder Principal G D Goenka Public School, Sec - 48, Gurgaon. Ms Nita Arora and Ms Rupal Jasraj Patel, Child Psychologist and counsellor.

The audience discovered valuable insights that can empower students to thrive academically and personally. Various techniques of handling the peer pressure were shared by the panelist and how the friends can stand up for the victim and help them raise their self-esteem and confidence, to keep such situations at bay.

Ms Anuradha Handa, the eminent speaker further shared the key points to manage societal and parent expectations in an effective manner. She reiterated that parents must  not burden the child with their expectations. Such thoughts create the doubt of self-worth in students’ minds and burdens the child, lowering their self-esteem. Ms Handa guided the parents to value the fundamental personality of the child and the uniqueness of the child which leads to  \enhancement of self-worth and raised self-esteem.

The discussion concluded with the key points for the students towards their journey for self-development and healthy self-image.
