FIRST SESSION OF IDM FOR CLASS X AND XII (

APRIL 22, 2022)

The IDM’s first session for classes X and XII was held on April 22, 2022 in the School Auditorium. The session was conducted by the honourable guests Dr Taniya Malik, faculty IIM Rohtak, Dr Madhurima Mishra, faculty IIM Rohtak and Ms Neha Wahi, resource person from Career Launcher. The session commenced with the school Principal, Ms Anuradha Handa, felicitating the guests Dr Madhurima spoke in great detail about the Five-Year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) offered by IIM Rohtak, which is for students after class XII who aim to pursue their career in Business Management. It is a comprehensive management program that has a combined course of management studies from undergraduate (UG) to postgraduate (PG). The programme aims at moulding the students into managers and leaders. She emphasised that only upon successfully completing academic rigour of 5 years, the participant will be awarded Master of Business Administration (MBA) by IIM Rohtak. She informed that there is no automatic entry into the fourth and fifth year and that the students will have to maintain a minimum CGPA of 5 to be eligible for the last two years of the program to earn a master’s degree. Overall, the programme consists of 15 terms spread over 5 years. A year has three terms, each of 3 months duration. The entire programme is divided into two parts; the first part focuses on the foundation courses, whereas the second part focuses on management.

Dr Taniya Malik talked about the Five-Year Integrated Programme in Law (IPL), offered by IIM Rohtak for students after class XII. The inter disciplinary program aims at providing an in-depth knowledge of business management with intricate details of law and governance. Only on successful completion of the academic rigour of 5 years, the participant will be awarded Integrated Degree of BBA-LLB. There is no lateral entry on the plea of graduation in any subject or exit by way of awarding a degree splitting the integrated programme, at any intermediary stage of the programme.

Ms Neha Wahi, resource person, Career Launcher said that Class X and XII is a very important class in student life, as it is the foundation of future options. It’s the opportune time where students can invest in carrying out their research about exams like SAT, and IELTS and courses available at DU and other universities. She reiterated the importance of knowing one’s potential and subject of interest before making a decision. She emphasized the importance of making informed decisions. In addition to this, selecting the right university for higher education is equally important. The session ended with students asking their queries to the guests. It was indeed an enriching session for students.
