DESIGN THINKING WORKSHOP

 (OCTOBER 10, 2024)

G D Goenka group of schools organised a workshop on Design thinking through a virtual session for its faculty members across all schools of G D Goenka. An interactive workshop aimed to provide participants with practical insights into the principles and applications of design thinking for creative problem-solving. The session commenced with an introduction to the core concept of design thinking.

The expert emphasized its human-centered approach, quoting Clement Mok "At its core, design thinking is the idea of making the world better, not just different." The session was very informative and engaging. The expert highlighted the significance of empathy, stating, "Empathy is at the heart of design. Without understanding what others see, feel, and experience, design is a pointless task." This was followed by engaging discussions and real-world examples demonstrating the impact of understanding user needs.

The workshop concluded with a Q&A session, where participants shared their insights and challenges. The expert reiterated the importance of design thinking in modern problem-solving, summarizing with Steve Jobs' words, "Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works."

The session was highly enriching and left participants inspired to implement design thinking principles in their personal and professional projects. The workshop successfully fostered a spirit of innovation and creative problem-solving among the attendees.
