CONCLAVE - COMPETENCY BASED ASSESSMENT

The conclave hosted by G D Goenka Public School Sector 48, Gurugram in collaboration with Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), a global not-for-profit educational research organisation with 90 years of experience in educational research and assessment on April 29, 2023 focused on Competency-Based Assessment. Leadership team comprising of Principals, Directors, Vice principals and Headmistresses, from Delhi-NCR schools attended the conclave.

The Principal Ms Anuradha Handa along with the dignitaries, lit the auspicious lamp for the commencement of the ceremony, followed by felicitation in the school auditorium. Goenkans performed a graceful dance drama on the theme 'Competency-Based Assessment'. The session was inspired by the 'Gurukul System' and character-building in alignment with NEP2020.

The guest speaker, Dr Priyanka Sharma, Director Research, ACER India, addressed the gathering with the need to transform assessments for the next-gen learning system. She laid emphasis on preparing our learners to be future-ready with interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary skills, which will enable them to achieve their goals. It will also prepare them with problem-solving, conflict-resolution abilities and sustainability as they are the need of the hour.

The keynote address was delivered by Mr Atul Behari Bhatnagar, former COO, National Skill Development Corporations. He spoke on making India the ‘Skill Capital of The World.’ He emphasized ‘Learn More and Earn More.’ The event stipulated with the last speaker of the day Mr Ashtamurthy Killinmangalam, a research analyst with ACER, India, he concluded the session with highlights on competency-based assessment for school leadership and the need to advance towards the learning progression in schools.
