COLLEGE APPLICATION & ADMISSION PROCESSES; ASHOKA UNIVERSITY

The school believes in empowering the students towards taking the first steps out in the world. In order to provide a clear understanding of the academic programmes offered by Liberal Arts Universities in India, a session by Ashoka University was organized for students of Grades XI and XII on October 15 and 16 respectively.

Ms. Parneet Shergill and Mr. Shaurya Cheema of Ashoka University shared a detailed insight into the multi-disciplinary approach proposed by NEP-2020 which is being implemented at their university. Students were impressed to know that the Ashoka University has been hailed as the "Ivy League of India" by Financial Times, The Economics Times and even the Open Magazine.

Mr. Cheema gave an insight into the concept of Liberal Education and how it works at the University. He shared the crucial details regarding the admission process, available courses, admission timelines, The Young India Summer Programme, Financial aid available and Campus life at the university.

Ms. Parneet briefed the students about the components of the application form, mandatory initial assessment, the interview, the final decision making, and need based financial aids. Ms. Parneet gave some useful tips for writing a good application essay, do’s and don’ts, importance of individuality and self-reflection during a holistic assessment process.

The session was informative and interactive and provided the students much needed insight into how to take the confident next step after passing out of school.
