Students were involved in a range of learning activities and were given ample opportunities to participate, create and share ideas, thoughts and their work. Students were seen donning different hats each day and learning from experts from different fields. Visit by authors, story tellers, Chocolate designers, Career Counselors, Subject experts, Sports project workshops by experts added a new dimension to these sessions.

Students attended sessions titled Tech smart, Every picture tells a story, Project designing, Express with music and dance , Snack chef and other such interesting and interactive sessions. The programme was a grand success with more than 90% students attending the classes on a regular basis.

SPE – SUPPORT, PRACTICE AND ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME

The aim of initiating this programme was to provide support to each and every student and help him/ her excel in scholastic activities. Teachers prepare notes, assignments, recapitulation modules, use videos and apps to guide each child as per the need, learning style and pace.

Different teachers were assigned the responsibility of each group and they worked on enhancing the study skills of students during this duration. The in-house team created resources, study modules, games, quiz and several activities to generate interest in scholastic activities in the students. Enrichment group team focused on Higher Order Thinking Skills and involved the above average students in thinking, reasoning and group activities. The teachers working with the other group focused on the basics and revisited topics covered in the class to ensure that these students are clear with the concepts taught in the class.

The student mentors of class XII also conducted workshops and interactive sessions for the students of classes VII and VIII. These students worked on communication skills of the students. It was heartening to observe the students utilizing their time and completely engaged in learning and polishing their study skills. This programme shall be continued throughout this academic year.

GOENKAN BROADWAY

At GDGPS 48, it is always our endeavour to provide more and more opportunities and platforms to each Goenkan and members of GDG family and to help, guide and support them on their journey of self-discovery and learning.

Goenkan Broadway, a unique endeavour of the school, was initiated this year during COEP 2020.The thought behind this initiative was to provide infotainment to our Goenkans during COVID 19 days and give the students and ex-students opportunity to connect, polish their skills and get new experiences in the virtual world .

Students from Nursery to XII were involved in the ten Broadway shows that were streamed live from June 1 to June 12, 2020

All the Goenkan Broadway presentations were designed, conceptualized, recorded, edited and streamed by in - house team comprising students and teachers of the school under the able guidance of the school Principal, Ms Anuradha Handa. The presentations included VJ’s presenting the show live, videos, dances, enactments, songs, presentations by experts, special guests and the School leaders interacting with the students and sharing their own lif experiences. It was heartening to see the shows receiving tremendous response from students and parents and setting new viewership records daily .

It was a moment of absolute delight to be able to participate and witness the launch session of COEP website page and Goenkan 48 Nest, school’s official YouTube channel during the Goenkan Broadway shows. Addressing the students on this momentous occasion, the School Principal, Ms Anuradha Handa, encouraged students to visit the YouTube channel and also share their videos for the same.
