"What can be learned on the ground cannot be learned in the classroom"

 

Holistic development has always been the underlying objective for teaching learning process at GDGPS, Sec-48. The Centre of Excellence Program (COEP) was a strategic planning and execution of activities leading to a whole new range of learning experiences for the Goenkan learners. COEP commenced in the Primary Wing, from May 30 to June 4 2022 with activities aimed at ensuring skill enhancement and value inculcation. The carefully planned and well curated program is reflective of the enthusiasm and zeal of the learners in the GDGPS fraternity. An array of activities included Table Manners, Culinary Skills, life skills such as opening and closing of lids, button and unbutton of clothing items, sharpening pencils along with LSRW (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing Skills).The Skill Development activities included clubs like My India My Pride-The Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Club, Gaffer Me-Team Building & Leadership Club, Conscientious Me-Life Skills & Problem Solving Club for classes Nursery-II and Patriotic Me-The Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Club,Maverik Me-Team Building & Leadership Club, Responsible Me-Life Skills & Problem Solving Club for classes III –V. The Co-Curricular activities included Music, Dance, Art, Theatre, IT, Art& Craft, Sculpture, Activity studio and Concept room. Sports and Fitness activities such as Basketball, Swimming, Football, Cricket, Taekwondo, Yoga and Skating were also conducted to develop and enhance skills like strength, speed, endurance, agility, flexibility, control and balance.

 

Lot of Parents visited the school and enjoyed participating in the activities and watching how their children interact in the classroom with their teachers and friends. The feedback filled by the parents after their visit is a testimony of parents’ confidence in the school's approach to education and learning. 

 

 The diverse activity sessions kept the children engaged and enthralled, and have proved to be an extension to their knowledge and experience. The school headmistress Ms. Srishti Bajaj applauded the budding learners for their overwhelmed response to these classes. She appreciated the activities which resulted in growth and mastery over diverse areas of learning thereby strengthening important life skills amongst the students.
