CBSE CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP- PSYCHOLOGY

The training workshop on Capacity Building in Psychology for the senior secondary teachers of Delhi NCR was organized by the Centre of Excellence, CBSE New Delhi at Manav Rachna International School Sector-46 Gurugram.

This 2 day training was attended by nearly 25 schools of Delhi NCR. The resource persons for the workshop were Dr. Anjuman, a visiting professor at Jamia University, working extensively in the area of Cyber Psychology and Identity, along with Ms Sunitha Panchnatham, PGT Psychology at Army Public School, Delhi Cantt. The resource persons were given a warm floral welcome by the Principal of the host school, Ms Dhriti Malhotra.

The two day interactive workshop explored the different teaching-learning strategies at the senior secondary level. Dr. Anjuman introduced to the participants to the ‘constructivistic approach’ to teaching Psychology as promoted by the NCF. She also facilitated the participants about psychological testing and the various methods to make a practical class appear more authentic. The emphasis was on making the project work more reliable and equipping the students with skills to tackle viva questions.

Through team activities Ms Panchnatham worked on helping teachers improve the quality of questions. The participants worked as teams to prepare a sample blueprint and lesson plan. The highlight of the workshop was the brainstorming session on recent changes in the paper pattern. With the introduction of a new ‘creating’ section, teachers were puzzled, but the workshop was clearly an eye-opener. The enlightening discussion gave absolute clarity and equipped the teachers to better prepare their students.

The informative workshop came to an end with the certificate distribution and group photograph. The host school Head Mistress expressed her gratitude to the esteemed resource persons for inculcating skills and familiarizing the participants of the latest changes.
