CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME ON LEARNING OUTCOMES AND PEDAGOGIES
(DECEMBER 10, 2022)
As a CBSE resource person, Principal Ms Anuradha Handa is devoted to the capacity building of fellow educators. Her sessions have inspired educators across the length and breadth of the country and helped them enhance their skills and competencies, keeping them in synch with the latest developments in the field of education.
Ms Anuradha Handa conducted a session for the teachers at Delhi World School, Greater Noida on December 10, 2022. The day long Capacity Building Programme on Learning Outcomes and Pedagogies offered a deep insight into the transformation of education over centuries and the need to provide education for life and not just for a living.
In her workshop, Ms Handa explained the need to have well defined Learning Objectives and Learning Outcomes. She explained how the Teaching-Learning Cycle, based on Blooms Taxonomy, can equip a teacher to reach the desired learning outcome and in the process, develops in students competencies for life. Dwelling on the premise that ‘if some children can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn’, Ms Handa took the teachers through different pedagogies, their key features, components and outcomes, stressing that outcomes have to be measured in terms of competencies developed and not volume of content reproduced. She reiterated that assessments can be embedded seamlessly into the teaching learning cycle of various pedagogical practices and took the teachers through a range of assessment tools & techniques. She concluded by stressing that planning on the part of the teacher is paramount.
The session was received exceedingly well by the attendees as each one felt that the learning through the session shall stay with them for life.
