BUILDING A BRIGHTER FUTURE TOGETHER - MURDOCH UNIVERSITY & ISTEP

A workshop on “Building a Brighter Future Together” was organized by Murdoch University, Australia in partnership with iSTEP, New Delhi exclusively for educators. Workshop was organized with the focus to deal with the global challenges and promote sustainability and how Murdoch University with their varied education programme are confronting and solving “wicked problems”. Various Professors working with different disciplines from the university had presented their ideas to deal with the issues arising on a global level.

 

Professor Deborah Gare, Prof Vice Chancellor, from Murdoch University opened the session with the topic; How problems from our past, shape our present and determine our future, where she discusses many global issues from the past which are determining the growth of a country and its stand at a global platform.  Prof. Tania Urmee from School of Engineering and energy had presented the idea of “Powering future”. She discussed and encouraged the audience about the future of sustainable energy resources and how it can impact and solve many global issues. Prof. Simon also had an interesting take on biosecurity.

 

Overall this workshop covered many interesting global issues and how Murdoch University with their education programmes are focusing not only educating the students but also making aware global citizens for the future. Kelly Smith, Pro Vice Chancellor had discussed education opportunities at Murdoch university. This event was organized by the iSTEP mentors. iSTEP Mentors is a digital platform which helps education organizations and foreign Universities come together. They organize master classes for educators on various topics.
