ASSEMBLY- POWER OF WORDS

(OCTOBER 19, 2023)

“Words have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate, and to humble." Words are singularly the most powerful force available to humanity. We can choose to use this force constructively with words of encouragement, or destructively using words of despair.

To spread the same message, the students of class VI-D presented an assembly on the topic ‘POWER OF WORDS’. The assembly commenced with a short enactment of a tree being cursed by villagers to bring it down to the ground. The enactment self-introduced the assembly topic. It was followed by the English Prayer which is believed to provide peace and serenity to our minds and souls. It was followed by thought of the day. The young Goenkans updated with the news headlines across the world. The students played a game with the audience using toothpaste. They were asked to take it out first and then try to put it back in the tube. It’s easy to take out words and impossible to take them back. This is how words and toothpaste relate.

After the game students made the audience introspect by a thinking activity. Students prepared simple badges for all students of class 6 to carefully pick up positive words for friends or anyone they admire and wear it with pride followed by a mesmerising dance performance.

The Headmistress Ms. Shalini Tandon appreciated the students and acknowledged their efforts. Students shared some activities with the Principal also. The assembly concluded with the school anthem.
