ASSEMBLY - EMPATHY

Class assemblies are a platform which gives students a chance to express their opinions and display their skills. The class assembly of the session 2021 was presented by the students of classes XII A and B on July 16, 2021. The central theme of their presentation was empathy, not just towards their fellow humans but the entire world and its creatures.
After invoking the Almighty, a “shloka” was presented by Mrs Anju Arora, Daksh Arora’s grandmother. After the thought for day which clearly defined empathy, the news headlines were presented by the students. A mime on the various covid rules which need to be followed was presented which was followed by an enactment from Nelson Mandela’s autobiography, “The Long Walk to Freedom”.
Several students came together to enact the ways in which people display empathy. In the Creative Corner, an array of photographs was presented by the members of the Photography Club. Ms Sunita Singhal, part of the Centre for Science and Environment, was a special guest who spoke about the value of empathy during the pandemic. She spoke about her own efforts in helping a co-worker.
The assembly concluded with an address by the Principal, Ms Anuradha Handa where she praised the efforts of the students and expressed her belief that they would carry the values learnt at GDGPS, sector-48 all through their lives.
