ASSEMBLY - STRENGTHENING OUR ROOTS
(NOVEMBER 06, 2024)
"It is in the roots, not the branches, that a tree’s greatest strength lies."
With this thought in their minds the students of class V D presented an enriching assembly on the topic- ‘Strengthening Our Roots’. Prayer is the opening of the heart to God. To start the day with the blessings from almighty the assembly proceeded further with the prayer sung by the choir group thanking God and seeking blessings in their lives.
Students shared the positive, relatable thoughts in English, Hindi, importance and significance of our roots. The creative Goenkan reporters presented the news in an interactive and creative way and updated everyone about the latest happenings in and around the country and in the world.
“A healthy mind resides in a healthy body.” To convey the fact that Yoga is an ancient practice which keeps us mentally and physically fit, students performed the Surya Namaskar and breathing exercises. Another important aspect of the assembly was understanding some amazing scientific reasons behind our rich culture like: Joining both palms together to greet, applying tilak/kumkum on the forehead and offering water to the sun.
To further enlighten everyone our headmistress Ms Shalini Tandon addressed and encouraged and appreciated the Goenkans of grade 5. Towards the end, everyone understood that we must always stay connected with our rich culture and follow it in our life so that even the next generations are connected with their traditions and can strengthen their roots.
