WEBINAR - CREATIVE WRITING (AUGUST 08, 2020)

The best story emerges out of a thought wrapped up in emotion that leads to action.

GDGPS provides every opportunity and autonomy to its faculty members to attend Professional Development and Skill Enhancement workshops (online and offline). English, being a dynamic language and also a skill and subject is always influenced by the global trends particularly in the LRSW matrix. Ms.  Jyotin Prinja, Senior Secondary English teacher took the opportunity to attend a webinar on  Impactful and Creative Writing on 8 august, 2020.

Ms. Jyotika Raisinghani  Dhawan, ‎Founder and CEO, Heli HR, Orion Square India shared the larger purpose of the session - to guide the youth to make insightful and socially transformative contributions (through their writing, short-films and public speaking) in todays fiercely competitive and fast-paced global world.

Ms. Chausilla Narula, the Founder Director, University Connection  was forthcoming with more details of the topics and genres of reflexive writings and essays that are expected from the students in the Senior secondary grades and at the college level.

The best essays and articles are judged on the following globally accepted  rubrics – thought process (creative, inspiring and realistic) empathy/concern for an issue/use of imagination/ideas/solutions. The process and scope of writing essays especially the ones that national and foreign universities scrutinize involve – 30% writing skills + 70% thinking. Ms. Charu called ones writing to be the important hook.. According to Ms. Charushilla, the language of success is AEIOU (the English vowels).

An interesting Message in the Bottle allowed the attendees to show their spontaneity as well as quick thinking. The learning takeaway by all those who were a part of the session was that the best stories or write-ups are the ones that are fuelled by ones conviction, written with feelings and lead to a qualitative or transformative difference.
