THE CHEMISTRY CONNECTION

A live interactive session was conducted by Ms. Smriti Gupta and Ms. Nidhi Rai.The session was attended by all the Chemistry teachers of GD Goenka group from all over the country on August 22, 2025. The session was designed to reiterate the need for lesson planning, including innovative teaching practices and effective use of resources.

 

The key highlights of the session are as follows:

 

  • Use of Resources - Emphasis on NCERT Chemistry books (Class XI & XII) as the preferred resource material. Teachers were advised to prioritize these resources while preparing lessons and assignments.
  • Lesson Planning & Assignments - Importance of systematic lesson planning was underlined. Strategies to design assignments and worksheets were discussed, with a focus on differentiating between worksheets for average learners, focusing on essential minimum syllabus and worksheets for advanced learners, encouraging higher-order thinking.
  • Support for Average Students - Preparation of an essential minimum syllabus for average students to ensure they can perform effectively in board examinations and continuous monitoring and scaffolding to build their confidence.
  • Innovative Teaching Practices- The role of remedial classes in strengthening weak concepts- adoption of peer learning and flip teaching methods to improve student engagement and understanding.
  • Common Errors & Remedial Measures- Identification of frequent mistakes students commit while writing answers.
  • Student Motivation-The session concluded with the thought that teachers must consistently motivate and encourage students to put in their best efforts. A positive and supportive environment was stressed as vital for better academic outcomes.

 

Overall, the session was highly informative and provided practical strategies to enhance both teaching practices and student learning outcomes.
