TEACHING HISTORY WITH IMPACT FROM FACTS TO UNDERSTANDING

The workshop titled “Teaching History with Impact: From Facts to Understanding” was conducted on 4th November 2025. It aimed to enhance teachers’ understanding of effective methods in teaching history by focusing on developing conceptual clarity rather than rote learning. The session was organised as part of a faculty enrichment programme for Social Science teachers. It was conducted by Ms. Rakhi Sharma and Mr. Sameer Ahmad, experienced educators known for their expertise in history pedagogy and innovative classroom practices.

The workshop highlighted the importance of transforming history lessons from factual recall to meaningful understanding. The resource persons shared interactive strategies such as inquiry-based learning, connecting historical events with contemporary issues, and encouraging analytical thinking among students. Teachers actively participated in reflective activities and discussions that focused on promoting curiosity and comprehension in the classroom.

The session provided valuable insights into making history engaging, relatable, and thought-provoking. Overall, it was a highly enriching experience that motivated teachers to adopt new and impactful approaches to history teaching.
