The festival of lights, Diwali, was celebrated with splendour and devotion at G D Goenka Public School, Sector–48, Gurugram, on 17th October, 2025 through a special assembly presented by the students of Grade X. Graced by the presence of the Headmistresses and school Principal, the celebration beautifully blended tradition, creativity, and social awareness.

The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness and wisdom over ignorance. A soulful Bhajan followed, invoking divine blessings and creating an aura of serenity. Students of Grade X presented a thought-provoking skit that highlighted Diwali as a festival of compassion, righteousness, and gratitude, reminding everyone that true celebration lies in sharing joy and kindness. This was followed by a vibrant dance performance that filled the auditorium with colour, rhythm, and festive fervour.

A special attraction of the event was the exhibition by the Umeed Foundation, displaying beautifully handcrafted diyas, candles, and eco-friendly artefacts made by differently-abled children. Appreciating this initiative, the senior wing Headmistress commended the students for supporting inclusivity and community welfare.
