(DECEMBER 20, 2025)
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” — Nelson Mandela
In alignment with the school’s vision to nurture confident, informed, and responsible global citizens, SAMVAAD 2025 – MUN Workshop was organized on Saturday, December 20, 2025, for students of Classes VII and VIII in the school premises. This marked the first in a series of workshops designed to foster critical thinking, collaboration, and leadership among young learners.
Conceived and meticulously organized by the students of Class VIII, under the able guidance of teachers and the leadership of the Headmistress Ms. Shalini Tandon, the workshop exemplified student initiative, teamwork and ownership of learning. Adding further depth to the experience, students from the Senior School, who have rich experience participating in various Model United Nations conferences, conducted and guided the sessions. Their mentorship provided valuable insights into the procedures, decorum and diplomacy that form the essence of MUN.
The workshop aimed to introduce participants to the structure and functioning of the United Nations, while fostering essential 21st-century skills such as public speaking, research, negotiation and analytical reasoning. Conducted through engaging and interactive sessions, the young delegates learned the fundamentals of committee procedures, resolution drafting, and persuasive debating, helping them gain confidence and develop a global perspective.
Each participant received a Certificate of Participation, while trophies and appreciation certificates were awarded to outstanding performers. The enthusiasm and engagement of the students made the workshop a resounding success and a proud reflection of the school’s commitment to experiential learning.
SAMVAAD 2025 served as an inspiring beginning to a new tradition of meaningful dialogue and collaborative learning. It stands as a testament to the school’s mission of empowering students to become articulate, empathetic, and globally aware individuals. With more editions planned in the future, this initiative is set to grow into a hallmark of intellectual growth, leadership and cross-age mentorship within the school community.
