PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP FOR FOUNDATIONAL YEARS TEACHERS-GROWTH VS. FIXED MINDSET

(JANUARY 31, 2025)

A professional development workshop on "Growth vs. Fixed Mindset" was conducted by Foundational Years Headmistress Ms. Harmeet Kaur, and ICT Facilitator Ms. Simpy Sharma. The session aimed to deepen teachers' understanding of how mindset influences learning, development, and resilience.

The workshop featured insightful discussions, engaging activities, and introspective exercises. Educators explored the key differences between a growth and fixed mindset, identifying common fixed mindset triggers such as negative self-talk, fear of failure, and perfectionism. Through interactive sessions, teachers learned practical strategies to foster a growth mindset in themselves and their students, including embracing challenges, valuing effort, and seeking constructive feedback.

A highlight of the session was the reflection segment, where participants shared personal experiences and discussed ways to implement a growth-oriented approach in their classrooms. The engaging discussions helped teachers recognize the importance of cultivating resilience and continuous learning in young minds.

The workshop concluded with a call to action for educators to adopt a lifelong growth mindset, ensuring an enriching and progressive learning environment for students.
