OPEN DOOR MATHEMATICS WORKSHOP
(APRIL 11, 2025)
"Pure mathematics is, in its way, the poetry of logical ideas." – Albert Einstein
The mathematics workshop titled OPEN DOOR MATH was conducted by Mr. Abhishek Kariwal on April 11, 2025, via the Zoom platform. Topic of the workshop was - On Boarding and Lesson Plan Discussion – Mathematics Teachers. The session was designed to provide educators with deeper insights into promoting logical reasoning and analytical thinking among students.
The primary objective of the workshop was to enhance students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills through meaningful mathematical engagement. Mr. Kariwal presented a range of well-curated problems that encouraged participants to explore multiple approaches to arriving at a solution. The session underscored the application of mathematical concepts in real-life scenarios, particularly in situations where certain parameters were either unknown or ambiguous.
An important segment of the workshop focused on the Think Workbooks, resource materials developed for students from Class V onwards. These workbooks are structured to foster conceptual understanding by presenting thought-provoking questions at the beginning of each chapter. Students are then guided to apply the learned concepts through practice exercises and further challenged to develop higher-order thinking skills through complex problem-solving tasks.
Overall, the workshop proved to be an insightful and enriching experience. It equipped educators with practical strategies and tools to make mathematics more engaging and concept-driven in the classroom.
