MATH CONCEPT WORKSHOP ON THINKING CLASSROOM

An online session was conducted on Maths Concept - Thinking Classroom Learning by the ‘Open Doors’ on 04th July, 2024. The resource person was Mr. Dharmendra. The session was attended by Math educators from across all schools of G D Goenka. The session provided the educators with the most current and effective teaching strategies. The training covered essential topics that are foundational for the academic year and equipped our teachers with the necessary resources to foster a stimulating learning environment for our students.

 

The training highlighted the effective strategies and inquiry-based learning approaches, exploring math concepts through real-world applications. It also emphasized on the need to integrate practice and thinking questions into the teaching methodologies and the significance of regular practice for students to enhance conceptual understanding.

 

Mr. Dharmendra took educators through different examples from the Math Think book and explained about the intention or purpose of the given questions. He also explained how these questions are designed and not asked directly but divided into different subparts so that students find it easy to understand. Further, he added that the approach of giving such kinds of questions in the book is for the better understanding of math concepts by improving the Mathematical content knowledge of students.

 

Overall, the Maths Thinking Classroom Training equipped educators with valuable strategies to incorporate practice and thinking questions into their teaching practices, fostering a conducive learning environment for students' holistic development.

 

This workshop session was an important learning opportunity for all who designed and facilitated it and those who participated in it. The session was very informative and interactive with lively interactions between the resource person and the attendees.
