FIRE AND WAR EMERGENCY AWARENESS FOR TEACHERS

A workshop was organized on 12th May, 2025 at G D Goenka Public School Sector-48, Gurugram to apprise teachers about the importance of mock drills and the necessary precautions to be taken in case of emergencies such as fire, earthquake or war. The session aimed to ensure preparedness among the school staff to handle crisis situations effectively and responsibly.

The session began with an overview of the types of emergencies that can occur and how timely action can prevent panic and save lives.

Key highlights of the workshop included:

  • Fire Safety Awareness: Teachers were trained on how to identify fire hazards, use fire extinguishers, and evacuate students calmly during a fire. The importance of not using lifts, staying low to avoid smoke inhalation, and assembling at the designated safe zone was emphasized.
     
  • War-Time Preparedness: Guidance was provided on responding to air-raid sirens, identifying shelter areas within the school. Roles and responsibilities during such events were clearly assigned to ensure accountability and swift response. The importance of maintaining emergency kits on every floor  was stressed.

Overall, the workshop was highly informative and successful in equipping the teaching staff with practical knowledge and confidence to respond efficiently during emergencies. Such training sessions play a vital role in ensuring the safety of students and staff and maintaining a culture of preparedness within the school environment.
