EDUCATIONAL EXCURSION TO GURUJAL WATER CONSERVATION SITE

(AUGUST 29, 2025)

As part of their ongoing Project-Based Learning theme “Every Drop Counts”, our enthusiastic Class II learners visited GuruJal, an initiative dedicated to water security and ecological restoration in Gurugram. The purpose of the visit was to help children understand the importance of conserving water and protecting natural resources through real-life examples.

At GuruJal, students learned how restoring ponds and water bodies not only recharges groundwater but also revives local ecosystems. They observed the different steps involved in the restoration process—such as desilting, planting trees, and involving the community in long-term care of the ponds. The team also demonstrated how traditional practices can be combined with modern technology, like digital water monitoring systems, to create sustainable solutions.

The young learners were amazed to see how collective action can make a big difference. They shared reflections such as, “I never knew cleaning a pond can bring back birds and frogs!” and “If we save water, we are helping all living things.”

The visit left a strong impression on the children, encouraging them to adopt small but impactful habits like turning off taps and spreading awareness at home. It also strengthened their role as “Water Guardians” in school, supporting the idea that every small step counts toward a bigger change.

This enriching experience truly brought alive the message of our PBL theme—every drop counts, and together we can create a water-wise future.
