Think Before You Click: Your Digital Footprint Shapes Your Future

“The internet never forgets — what you post today can shape who you become tomorrow.”

With this powerful reminder, on 10th September, 2025, GD Goenka Public School, Sector 48, Gurugram, conducted an in-house workshop for Class VIII students on “Think Before You Click – Your Digital Footprint Shapes Your Future”.

The session was led by Ms. Deepti Rai and Mr. Sachin Sharma, who sensitized students about the hidden dangers of fake IDs, oversharing on social media, and careless online behavior. They explained how a digital footprint can affect not only personal safety but also academic opportunities, including admissions to top universities. Real-life incidents, case studies, and references to cyber laws gave students a clear understanding of how the virtual world leaves lasting traces. Ms. Monika Pethia encouraged students to view the digital space as an opportunity for growth, emphasizing the importance of mindful profile building to create a positive and purposeful online identity.

Headmistress Ms. Shalini Tandon further enriched the workshop with practical advice on safeguarding oneself online, reminding students that vigilance and informed choices are their strongest shields in the digital era.

Workshops like these are a true reflection of the Goenkan vision of holistic education—where preparing students goes beyond textbooks and examinations. In an age where the digital and real worlds overlap, it is essential to equip learners with the wisdom to make mindful choices, the courage to protect themselves, and the foresight to build a future-ready identity. By instilling awareness about risks and empowering them with strategies to use technology responsibly, the school ensures that every Goenkan grows into a confident, compassionate and digitally wise global citizen. Because in the end, every click writes your future.
