CELEBRATING TEACHERS DAY
(SEPTEMBER 05, 2025)
The morning of September 5th turned into a walk down memory lane as the students of Grade 12 at GD Goenka Public School presented a heartwarming special assembly on the theme, The Golden Era of Television – Time to Relive. Set against the backdrop of Teachers’ Day celebrations, the program was more than just a performance—it was a tribute, a way for the young Goenkans to honour the golden era that nurtured the childhood of their beloved teachers.
The stage came alive with nostalgia as student’s recreated iconic moments from the 90’s television era. From comic scenes that left the audience in fits of laughter, to soulful performances that tugged at the heartstrings, every act resonated with warmth, affection, and admiration for a time their teachers cherished most. The attention to detail—from costumes and dialogues to carefully chosen soundtracks—reflected not only immense creativity but also deep respect for the period that shaped their mentors’ lives.
What truly stood out was the emotional connect. The assembly wasn’t just about reliving retro entertainment; it was a moving gesture of gratitude. Grade 12 students reminded their teachers that beyond books and classrooms, they honor their journey, their stories, and the worlds they once lived in. The auditorium echoed with cheer, laughter, and, at moments, quiet reflection—a testament to how beautifully the past can bond generations together.
The program culminated in a touching appreciation speech by the Principal, Ms. Anuradha Handa, who applauded the students for their effort, creativity, and sensitivity. She expressed her pride in witnessing how today’s learners could so thoughtfully articulate nostalgia while celebrating their teachers with love and respect. Her words left both staff and students inspired, creating an atmosphere that blended joy with deep emotional resonance.
The assembly was much more than a performance—it was a celebration of memories, gratitude, and the invisible threads that tie teachers and students across time. The Grade 12 students gave their mentors a priceless gift: the joy of revisiting their youth, wrapped in the admiration of the generation they now guide and inspire.
