PLANTATION DRIVE BY STUDENTS OF G D GOENKA PUBLIC SCHOOL, SECTOR 48, GURUGRAM

Collaborating in sync with the educational tenants of NEP 2020 and NCFSE 2023, GDGPS, Sector 48, Gurugram, organized a plantation drive to foster environmental education amongst the Goenkans, in the month of September, 2023. The event was a collaborative effort involving both students and teachers, and all of them actively participated in this initiative. The aim was to purposefully strengthen their knowledge that their actions affect the environment, to build the skills necessary to address complex environmental issues, and to educate the students about ways to keep our environment healthy and sustainable for the future.

A variety of native saplings, were distributed to all students and teachers. This ensured that the sapling given to them would be planted at their home or the vicinity and they would nurture it to grow and keep the environment green and safe for them and the future generations to come.

Through this drive, the students realized the importance of plants in combating climate change and the role they play in maintaining a healthy environment. Additionally, this drive helped to instill a sense of responsibility and environmental consciousness in the young minds of the students. The school is committed to continuing such activities in the future to promote a sustainable and greener future.
