(DECEMBER 19, 2025)
This PDP session teachers had the opportunity to demonstrate and refine their teaching strategies in a controlled environment through a Microteaching Session. Ms. Harshita from the Middle Wing started off the first session on Simple Tenses, designed for Grade 5. She engaged the teachers by demonstrating how to teach present, past, and future tenses using real-world examples. To initiate the lesson, she introduced the topic through a poem, followed by a listening activity in which teachers identified verbs and tenses. This was followed by creating a visual timeline of actions. A PowerPoint presentation provided further explanation, and a brief review task was taken up to assess the understanding.
Next, Ms. Rubina from the Senior Wing conducted a session on Notice Writing, emphasizing the structure and significance of crafting a clear, concise notice. She highlighted the updated format, covering elements such as the heading, date, body, and signature. To make the session interactive, she assigned a quick, timed task where teachers had to draft a notice in just three minutes. Afterward, the group engaged in a productive discussion, sharing tips and insights. Both sessions proved to be highly interactive and enriching.
The latter part of the meeting shifted focus to Academic Planning for Term 2.
- A thorough review of syllabus alignment for the upcoming term was conducted.
- Discussions on ASL (Assessment of Speaking and Listening) strategies.
- Emphasis was placed on developing effective learning resources, such as worksheets,
- audio-visual aids, and other tools to foster deeper understanding and engagement.
- Plans for Winter Break Subject Enrichment and AIL (Active Integrated Learning)
- activities were discussed to ensure continuous student growth.
- Teachers were advised to prepare engaging learning materials to enhance teaching
- delivery, and the importance of detailed preparation for the next HSB (Holistic School-Based) session was highlighted to boost student outcomes.
