PARENT ORIENTATION

(MARCH 10, 2021)

“Education is the passport to the fire, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.”

Parent Orientation was organized at G D Goenka Public School Sector 48 Gurugram for parents of the new inductees of the Middle Wing for the Academic Year 2021-22 in the school premises on March 10, 2021. This Parent Orientation Program was organized for the parents and students joining the school in the upcoming academic year to familiarize with the teachers, facilities in the school, resources and the plan for the year ahead.

The proceedings were organized in the school library followed by a round of the school. The Head Mistress, Ms Shalini Tandon welcomed the new students and their parents into the Goenkan family and briefed the parents on the vision that the school has for their wards. Parents were assured that with the right balance of traditional values and modern facilities, their wards are in good hands. She briefed the parents about the scholastic and co-scholastic activities planned for children of classes III to VIII. Both parents and students alike were assured of the school’s whole-hearted support. She also enlightened the parents on the philosophy in vogue for shaping the future of students. The vision for this section encompassing sports, co-scholastic, scholastic activities and curriculum development was shared. The middle wing is like the cementing section between the junior and senior wing. The Head Mistress assured that the school is aware and well-equipped to channelize the unbridled energy of younglings into purposeful strides of young ones.

Parents were then introduced to the teaching faculty who led them to the various activity studios and other areas of the school and introduced the class environment and classroom transactions. Finally, parents were guided to the auditorium where a high tea was organized. Parents and teachers mingled in an informal environment with each other. This was a time well spent in bonding between two important members of the team shaping our children’s future – the parents and the mentors. The assured and well-informed parents then left the school. The aim of this exercise-instilling confidence in these two stakeholders, was achieved and trepidation gave way to enthusiasm.
