ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR SENIOR TEACHERS FOR LIFE SKILL TRAINING INITIATIVE BY CBSE

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted an orientation programme for principals/ vice-principals and senior teachers on December 27, 2021. This was attended by senior school counsellor Dr Dipti Yadav.

CBSE in collaboration with UNICEF, YuWaah, and Udhyam Learning Foundation has launched a Life Skills Training Initiative for students of classes IX & XI. The aim is to empower them with essential life and employability skills, whose importance has been emphasized in the National Education Policy, 2020. This includes skills such as communication, problem-solving, self-awareness etc., which will enable students to achieve success in both professional and personal life.

The orientation session was conducted by Dr Biswajit Saha, Director CBSE supported by Mr Abhishek Gupta and Mr ankit Goel and Mr Abhay. The U-report chat bot features and usage were demonstrated during the session. The details of the programme were shared with the audience. The first phase of this initiative would be conducted from January 10 to February 10 in selected 100 schools. 40 master trainers would train the teachers of classes IX and XI to run the project in their respective classes.

The teachers would encourage and guide students to complete the activities though the chatbot and the certificates would be provided by CBSE, UNICEF and YuWaah. It was an informative training experience for the participants.
