G D Goenka Public School, Sector 48, Gurugram, shines as Cultural Canvas: Hosts INTACH's All-India Poster Making Competition with 15 Gurgaon Schools


G D Goenka Public School, Sector 48, took centre stage on February 6, 2024, hosting the prestigious Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH)'s All-India Poster Making Competition. This captivating event, tailored for students of classes 7-9, drew participation from 15 esteemed schools across Gurugram, transforming the occasion into a vibrant showcase of creativity.


Among the distinguished guests were Ms. Shikha Gupta - Director, Kalaagram; INTACH Convenor Gurugram Chapter Ms. Tapasya Samal; Co-Convenor Ms. Anjali; INTACH Secretary Ms. Rekha Banerjee; and HECS Team Leader Ms. Ruchi Rai. Their insightful perspectives underscored the competition's focus on preserving India's rich cultural heritage.


The school elevated the cultural ambiance with a soul-stirring medley of patriotic songs. This heartfelt musical tribute set the stage for a mesmerizing solo Bharatnatyam performance, by the exceptionally talented class XI student of the school, Ms. Shivani Thandassery. A national-level award recipient, Shivani's dance left the audience captivated.

 

Ms. Anuradha Handa, the school principal, emphasized the profound connection to our roots and the responsibility to care for our rich heritage. Adding a layer of intellectual richness to the event, Ms. Shikha Gupta, the esteemed guest speaker, educated the audience about the diverse monuments and tangible and intangible heritage of Haryana, with a special emphasis on Gurugram. Her enlightening insights provided a deeper understanding of the cultural wealth embedded in the region.


INTACH, dedicated to safeguarding India's cultural legacy, played a pivotal role in organizing the event. The collaboration between INTACH and GDGPS underscored their joint commitment to nurturing creativity and cultural awareness among the youth. The school created a stimulating environment for students to engage with India's rich cultural tapestry, allowing them to showcase their artistic talents and contribute to the broader mission of cultural preservation.
