EVERYTHING AND READ ACTIVITY 2026

(April 10, 2026)

DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) Day was observed in the Foundational Years on April 10, 2026, with great enthusiasm. The activity aimed to nurture a love for reading among young learners and encourage them to develop it as a lifelong habit. During this special time, students paused their regular classroom routine and immersed themselves in the world of books.

Learners explored a wide range of storybooks and picture books, which helped enhance their imagination, vocabulary and comprehension skills. The classrooms transformed into calm and focused reading spaces, allowing students to enjoy uninterrupted reading time. Children were seen deeply engaged, turning pages with curiosity and excitement.

Teachers guided the learners in selecting age-appropriate books and encouraged them to talk about what they read, helping build confidence and expression. The activity also promoted independent reading habits at an early age.

It was heartening to witness the enthusiasm and interest shown by the students throughout the session. DEAR Day proved to be a meaningful and enriching experience, reinforcing the importance of reading in a child’s overall development and growth.
