A webinar session on ‘Decoding National Curriculum Framework’ was organised on September  27, 2023 by Gurgaon Progressive School Council(GPSC). The renowned panelist included              Ms. Aditi Misra, Principal Director Delhi Public School, Sector-45, Ms Anuradha Handa, Founder Principal G D Goenka Public School , Sec - 48 and Ms. Rashmi Malik, Principal, Salwan Public School, Sector-15.

The webinar provided an insightful overview of the NCF, its rootedness in India and Indian knowledge systems, values and dispositions, learning about and caring for the environment, guidance and counseling in schools. and educational technology. Ms. Aditi Misra emphasized that the NCF is rooted in India’s ancient wisdom, knowledge, culture and traditions in order to ensure that education is maximally relatable, relevant, interesting and effective for our students. Ms. Rashmi Malik spoke about the importance of ICT in everyday life, emerging technologies and the various challenges and opportunities.

Ms. Anuradha Handa highlighted that Environmental Education under NCF aims to develop cognitive understanding that will lead to emotional connect and bring about behavioural change towards environmental issues. The goal is to create a strong foundation of environmental literacy, develop a more compassionate attitude towards natural environment and develop sustainable solutions that maintain a dynamic equilibrium. Moreover, speaking about Guidance and Counseling, she emphasized that guidance and counseling should work hand in hand, and  support learning with a systematic approach that would focus on the needs of the students.

The webinar offered a recapitulation of the key principles outlined in the National Curriculum Framework ensuring a clearer grasp of the NCF’s foundational concepts.
