BEYOND SUBJECT BOUNDARIES

(July 10, 2026)

An insightful career guidance session titled "Beyond Streams: Designing Your Future" was conducted for the Grade X students in the School Auditorium by Ms. Hima Mal and Ms. Astha from Ikigai Education Services.

The session encouraged students to look beyond conventional stream boundaries and make informed subject choices based on a deeper understanding of themselves. Through interactive discussions and reflective activities, students were guided through the process of self-discovery by exploring their interests, strengths, personality, and aptitude. The speakers emphasized that choosing subjects should be based on an individual's unique profile rather than societal perceptions or popular trends.

Students were also introduced to the relationship between interests, aptitude, and career aspirations, enabling them to understand how informed subject choices can open diverse academic and professional opportunities. The session highlighted the evolving world of careers, where interdisciplinary learning and transferable skills play a significant role in shaping future success.

The speakers encouraged students to reflect on their aspirations, identify their strengths, and actively explore various career pathways before making subject selections. Practical examples and real-life career scenarios helped students appreciate that there is no single path to success and that multiple academic combinations can lead to fulfilling careers.

The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer segment, where students clarified their doubts regarding subject selection, career options, and the importance of self-awareness in decision-making. Overall, the session empowered students with greater clarity and confidence, equipping them to make thoughtful academic choices aligned with their interests, abilities, and long-term goals.
