AUTHOR TALK BY MS DEVYANI KAPOOR

GD Goenka Public School, Sector 48, organised an engaging Author Talk by renowned educator, bestselling author, student mentor, life coach, and Founder & CEO of Edudevs, Ms Devyani Kapoor, for the students of Class VIII on 15 July 2026. The programme commenced with a warm welcome, followed by the Headmistress of the school, Ms Shalini Tandon, felicitating the distinguished guest as a token of respect and appreciation.

Drawing upon her bestselling book, Humming Classrooms & Notorious Corridors, Ms Kapoor began the session by sharing significant incidents from her own life that continue to influence her perspective and work. She then read a poignant excerpt from her book depicting the emotional journey of a child struggling with difficult circumstances, prompting students to reflect on the emotions and experiences that often remain unspoken.

As part of a reflective activity, students were invited to write on a slip of paper an emotion they had experienced that day. Referring to these emotions as the "Invisible Backpack", Ms Kapoor explained that every individual carries unseen emotional experiences that shape their thoughts, decisions, and relationships. She encouraged students to acknowledge these emotions with honesty and empathy, emphasising that recognising one's feelings is the first step towards resilience and emotional well-being.

The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, during which students interacted enthusiastically with the author and gained valuable insights into self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and personal growth. The enriching interaction left the audience inspired to embrace their individuality and navigate life's challenges with confidence and compassion.
